Repairs Explained

 

Key Points:

 

-       Payment can be made by cash or card upon collection

 

-       All repairs come with a 3 month warranty

 

-       As we are independent of Apple, if your device is under warranty with Apple this repair may void that warranty agreement

 

-       Wherever possible we will test functionality and note cosmetic condition of your device both before and after carrying out your repair

 

-       Repairs may result in minor cosmetic damage or marks whilst opening the device – if you notice any unsatisfactory cosmetic damage upon collection you must report this before leaving the store.

 

-        Whilst most repairs can be carried out without effecting your data, touch ID or water resistance we cannot always guarantee this and therefore accept no liability

 

-         

-       If we are unable to repair your device or you do not wish to proceed with our quote then our inspection fee applies:

 

  • £15.00 – iPhone/iPod/iPad
  • £25.00 – Mac
  • £35.00 – liquid damaged

 

-       Items left for longer than 3 months after booking in for repair will be disposed of.

 

-       Please note all turnaround times are our best estimate only and we can offer no guarantee of completion by this date.

Logic board repairs


Due to the nature of logic board repairs we have to stipulate the following additional terms:

  • Any logic board inspection or diagnostic carried out before a repair or quote can be intrusive and may require marking of the board and/or removal of components/shielding. This may void any Apple warranty, extended warranty or insurance agreement that you may have.
  • Due to the nature and instability of logic board faults we are unable to take any responsibility for faults which get worse and/or additional faults that occur whilst your unit is in our possession for inspection, diagnosis or repair.
  • In certain instances component replacement can result in further faults, damage or blow out to other components on the board, especially if there is a fault or short somewhere else on the same rail. However it is not always possible to know this until we replace the first faulty component on a rail. For this reason we are unable to accept responsibility for further faults which occur. Usually in this instance we would carry out a further diagnosis and quote where necessary. In rare cases the replacement of one component which then leads another component to blow can make the fault worse or result in the unit being beyond economic repair.
  • Logic board repairs do not come with a guarantee of success. Usually we will offer a rough estimate of percentage chance of success to help you decide whether it’s worthwhile to proceed. If the logic board repair is unsuccessful then our standard fault diagnosis/liquid damage fee will apply.
  • We offer a 3 month warranty on all logic board repairs, if the board fails within this time and we are not able to rectify the fault our standard fault diagnosis fee will apply and a refund will be made of the remaining balance.
  • illPod.com LTD will not be held responsible for further faults which are found after carrying out a logic board repair - especially on boards which are Dead on arrival and we are therefore unable to test the board and all the components in the device before carrying out the repair.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Liquid damage clean up service

  • Our liquid damage service is charged at a flat fee, this is payable regardless of whether we can get the device up and running or not.
  • Due to the nature and instability of devices which have suffered liquid damage we are unable to take an responsibility for faults which get worse and additional faults that occur whilst your unit is in our possession for cleaning, inspection, diagnosis or repair.
  • If after a full liquid damage clean up has been carried out we find further component’s are required to get the device back to a fully function state we will offer a quote. Wherever possible there parts will be fitted at a reduced labour cost to help keep the overall repair cost down.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fault diagnosis service


Our fault diagnosis service is charged at a flat fee, this is payable regardless of whether the device is repairable or not. Instances where this fee will apply are outlined below:

  • Device is beyond economic repair.
  • Device is repairable but customer does not wish to proceed with quote provided.

Payment

In store

Payment must be made upon collection of your device in store, Payment can be made by cash or card (We accept all major types of Credit and Debit card)

 

Online

Repair orders through our website must be paid online through our payment portal upon checkout – We accept all major types of debit or credit card, paypal, and cash/card upon collection from our store.

 

Credit

Credit is available to Trade customers only, by prior arrangement and in terms set out by us on a case by case basis.

 

Warranty

All repairs carried out by us come with a 3-month warranty. If  your device fails within 3 months of a previous repair, it must be returned to us for inspection to ascertain if the fault was caused or related to the repair. The warranty does not cover accidentally damage, wear and tear or damage/loss while in transit. If the fault is not related to the parts used or the process of the original repair, then illPod.com LTD is not liable. We will not be held liable for shipping or travel costs and by submitting your device for a repair with illPod.com LTD you agree to these terms. Due to the nature of apple equipment we are unable to cover cosmetic damage as is some instances it is not possible to open a device without leaving a mark.

 

Apple Warranty

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE NOT AFFILIATED WITH APPLE IN ANY WAY AND ALL OF OUR REPAIRS HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO VOID YOUR WARRANTY WITH APPLE. A such we specialize in out of warranty Apple repairs.

 

Fault finding, testing and cosmetic condition

 

Wherever possible will test all functionality of your device and note it’s cosmetic condition both before and after carrying out your repair.

  • If further faults are found we will contact you quote before carrying out the repair where possible. Usually at this point we will offer a revised quote for the additional repairs.
  • A note of any non minor cosmetic damage will be made
  • If we are unable to test the device fully due to the fault(s) and upon completion of the repair further faults are found then illPod.com LTD will not be liable for any further parts or repairs required. Usually at this point we will offer a revised quote for the additional repairs.
  • Due to the nature of apple equipment, we are unable to cover cosmetic damage as is some instances it is not possible to open a device without leaving a mark.
  • If you notice any unsatisfactory cosmetic damage upon collection you must report this before leaving the store. We will assess each case on a case by case basis.

 

Data – on device

We advise all customers to back up their device before bringing it in for repair. Whilst most repairs can be carried out without affecting your data, we cannot always guarantee this and therefore accept no liability for your data. Some repairs will require the device to be wiped/restored or replacement of the storage media and this will inevitably result in complete loss of any data stored on that media, we will usually advise you.

 

 

Left items
Any items which are not collected within 3 months of repair completion or being declared beyond economic repair will be disposed of.

Shipping
Customers are liable for the cost of shipping any device to and from us. We strongly recommend sending devices via Royal Mail Special Delivery as this service includes insurance against potential loss. illPod.com LTD will not be held liable for any loss or damage whilst your device is in transit.

All pre-loved devices come with a 3 month warranty, this covers the core functionality of the device should anything fail.

  • However this does not cover battery life, as used devices we are unable to guarantee battery life of our pre-loved devices.
  • We are unable to accept liability of loss of data as a result of hardware failure, and remind you to keep a back-up at all times.
  • Accidental damage is not covered.

 

7 day money back guarantee
Should you change your mind about your purchase, please return the device to us within 7 days in it’s original condition/packaging along with any accessories and we will be happy to provide a full refund.
